A new seven-part series of programs showing at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Mudgee is helping demystify the science of health.
The church calls the series Taking Charge of Your Health. Each program features one health and lifestyle issue, such as stress management, body image and at-risk behaviours, and shows how applying simple and practical principles can lead to a healthier, happier and more fulfilling life.
Taking Charge of Your Health is a magazine-style series. It has three hosts. "The first interviews a health professional who explains the science behind the issue--nutrition for example. The second, a health educator, unpacks the science in simple language--low-fat cooking is a nutritious way to prepare food. The third shows how to put the science into practice--you know all about low-fat cooking, but what do you actually eat for dinner?"
The series features more than 30 international experts.
With the flood of health information available, it is confusing as to what is the best health practice. This series will demystify the science of health and offer simple, doable, take-home messages.
The Adventist Church in Mudgee will show the seminar on Wednesdays at 7.00 pm from June 17 to July 29.
